"A day before my mother passed away, I was contacted by a realtor whose client was interested in my mother's condominium. The realtor and her client were not aware of my mother's serious illness. I needed help immediate professional help. The help came in the form of a realtor and attorney, Paul T. Martin of JB Goodwin.
Paul rearranged his schedule to act as my realtor and meet with me, the prospective client, and the prospective client's realtor at my mother's condominium. Given that my mother passed away the day before we were to meet, I was distracted and could have made some foolish decisions. Paul was my realtor, but also my guardian protecting my interests. Paul's expertise and professionalism helped me get through an emotionally stressful period. I will always be appreciative of that.
It became apparent shortly after that first meeting that the client was looking for a distress sale. Paul's advice enabled me to make informed decisions concerning the sale of my mother's condominium.
Paul studiously expedited the process. He took care of many tasks necessary to sell my mother's condominium. Paul listed the property, arranged for a virtual tour on Realtor.com (paid for out of his own pocket!), created informational media for buyer's agents highlighting the condo's recent remodeling, tracked the number of "hits" the property received on the internet, kept me informed of all inquiries, gave me listing price advice, answered all of my questions, always followed up, and always asked "what else can I do for you?"
Paul walked me through the entire process, and consistently gave me advice tuned to the current volatile real estate market. And while he was not able to act as my attorney, his legal skills clearly showed – his understanding of real estate law and probate law helped ensure we were ready to close without undue delay or surprises.

"I’d like to share with you how Paul Martin did a great job in my real estate transactions. I originally listed with one of those self-proclaimed “top REALTOR in Austin” types. Six months later, my house hadn’t sold. Paul picked the listing up, showed me current market data, and suggested a realistic price. He also pointed out no home had sold in my neighborhood in the last three months – unless the seller offered a bonus to buyer’s agents. Paul figured out a way to price my home so that I would net the same amount as if I hadn’t offered the bonus. As a result, Paul had my home under contract in 26 days.
Then, when I bought my new home, he took plenty of time to show me all of my options. After I had a contract on my new home, the title company the seller insisted we use closed its doors – with my earnest money locked up inside of it. Paul put his years of legal experience and his tenacity to work, getting my earnest money from the defunct title company and allowing me to close on time!
Aside from the obvious results, Paul cares how his clients are treated. He acted as a buffer between me, the other realtor, the title companies, and even my loan officer. With my extremely busy schedule, this was an invaluable service. It was nice to have someone treat me in a professional manner and realize that my time is valuable to me.
If you’re looking for the stereotypical REALTOR with their glamour shot picture on their business card, Paul is not your guy. However, if you want someone who works hard and gets the deal done, I fully recommend Paul Martin to you.
