The namesake of this ranch is given to it by history. In the mid-1800s, the last battle between the Comanche Indians and the Anglos, consisting of Texas Rangers and Volunteers, took place on what is the present-day ranch and surrounding land.

As you drive the all-weather roads throughout the ranch, you will find ancient Live Oak and Pecan trees scattered along the 4,000+- ft of the Plum Creek -- the Biodiversity of this ranch is off the charts. In the pastures, you can find several creeks and tributaries and much surface water in times of high rainfall, including the Pecan Branch. There is also a small tank next to the cabin (1 bed/1bath)
