We found our realtor, Vanessa Simon, completely by accident at an open house we attended. Boy was that lucky because she is the absolute best! It was very early days for us. Just getting a feel for what we wanted/needed in our first home. She was so genuinely caring, open, and knowledgeable, without being obtrusive or pushy as many of the agents we'd met at other open houses were. We knew right away she was someone our family wanted to work with. The whole JB Goodwin team was awesome but Vanessa is the star in this story. She worked with my husband and me for months. She worked tirelessly with us, showing probably well over 2 dozen homes and cultivating listings personalized to match our needs on a portal site for us to review. She asked questions about likes/dislikes in every home, took time to learn our family and it's unique needs, listened to our budget and all-around paid such incredible attention. Spending whole days driving around with us looking. She was always happy to answer questions, hunt down answers on a property, relay between mortgage broker, home inspections, listing agent, etc., add one more house or return to the same house 3x or 4x. My husband and I and our children thought she was amazing and truly, genuinely on our side, working for our best interests. She found us in the end not just a first home but a forever home. You will never find a better, kinder, or more tireless and knowledgeable agent than, Vanessa. We pass her name on to anyone we know who even hints at being ready to look.

Vanessa Simon was pivotal in my finding a house to rent. I'm a military spouse with two dogs, one being the notorious GSD (German Shepherd Dog). Anyone who has a GSD in their family knows the pain of dealing with the ridiculous Aggressive Breed label when trying to rent. Renting with a large dog is difficult enough (how on Earth is 35lbs a reasonable large dog' weight limit?) but add in breed prejudice and it becomes a true nightmare. Then factor in managing everything yourself and trying to swap your BAH while your spouse is in another country and goodness, but it gets stressful FAST. I had been using Zillow and calling everyone myself and Vanessa was the ONLY realtor to not only reply in a timely fashion, but she wasn't rude to me when I shared my canine situation (literally had a guy gruffly say “no" and hang up on me when I asked if the property's pet policy was GSD friendly). I was admittedly nervous relying on someone, but I said yes when she offered to take over the legwork of the searching for the perfect fit since Zillow doesn't stay up to date on properties' availabilities. It was so wonderful having one less thing to manage and Vanessa quickly found some great dog-friendly homes, too! Her networking is another thing that really helped out in the end, since houses were being snagged the same day they were being listed (drove me mad!). I met Vanessa to look at some houses, but I ended up with a lease because she had reached out to one of the brokers of the houses we viewed, and it turned out they were part of a military family and had their own GSD and therefore knew how sweet and loving they can be. To me, that's going above and beyond. I seriously can't recommend her enough, especially if you're a dog owner or military and you desperately need some help finding that needle in a haystack.
